The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet tells the extraordinary story of a globe-spanning search for a song. Beginning as a touching tale of two siblings connecting through music, it unfolds into a tale of love, friendship, obsession, lies hate and death threats. It's an unbelievable 40 year mystery that speeds through the last 4 decades, through the analogue world, into the digital revolution, trying to answer two very simple questions: What is this song? And why do so many people care so much?
Produced by 3B Produktion, commissioned by ARD Kultur & NDR, we filmed in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Paris, Tblisi, New York City and Krems-an-der-Donau to create a film that is a collage of exclusive interviews starring names such as Alphaville's Marian Gold and YouTuber Whang!, fabulously acted re-enactments, archival material and on-screen animation of the feverish online community desperately searching for the song.
